Our Story

Before it was a name,
it was a condition.
Now it is an identity.

BO$AL is not about looking backward. It is about knowing where you come from while deciding where you are going.

The Name

Bosal carries a complicated history.

Once used to describe people newly arrived from Africa in the Caribbean, the word belonged to a world built to strip people of identity.

BO$AL reclaims the word through a new generation.

Not as a condition imposed on us — but as a symbol of independence, resilience and the refusal to disappear.

What was once a label
becomes a signature.

1803

“Before independence had a date, freedom had already become inevitable.”

1803 — the point
of no return.

1803 marks the decisive struggle that preceded Haitian independence — the year the outcome stopped being in question. Inside the BO$AL universe it is not a history lesson. It is a code.

The Woman Behind the Symbol

Placeholder — official BO$AL woman symbol

She is not a queen.

She is not a fictional warrior.

She represents the women who worked.

The market woman.

The merchant.

The mother.

The builder.

Women who carried goods, families, communities and culture through generations.

Our symbol takes inspiration from the Haitian market woman — particularly the strength and independence associated with women merchants and the world surrounding Kwa Bosal.

She is an original symbolic character created for BO$AL, not a depiction of any specific historical person.

She didn’t inherit power.
She built it.

Tèt Mare

The Headwrap

More than fabric.

A silhouette of work, dignity, presence and identity.

The official BO$AL headwrap silhouette will become one of the most recognizable visual elements of the brand.

We know where we come from.
We decide where we go.

We carry history without being trapped by it.

We respect heritage without turning it into costume.

We create for people who understand that identity can travel, evolve and still remain rooted.

Rooted.
Unbound.
BO$AL.

BO$AL

$

The $ represents value.

The value of work.

The value of independence.

The value of what generations built from almost nothing.
